With a 300-seat capacity, there will be no shortage of laughter at Tiverton Communty Arts Theatre at Tiverton High School this Monday (February 6th). Tiverton’s popular Comedy Hall will take its monthly show there for the first time, bringing three bright young stand-ups to the stage.
Opening act will be Joey Page, who appeared on BBC2’s Never Mind The Buzzcocks just before Christmas. Team host Noel Fielding has described him as “A stylish comedian with a sonic imagination and twinkle in his eye”, and his ne brand of “indie” comedy is refreshing. Many have touted him as the future of comedy, and he is writing projects for Radio 1 and So television as well as making his mark on the UK comedy circuit.
Fighting it to see who comperes and who closes the show are Chris Dangerfield and Trevor Lock. Many people will recognise Lock as buddy and TV stooge for Russell Brand, but he will be remembered for his own unique brand of comedy. A brilliant improvisor, he has a cult following and toured the UK with Lock in your Living Room, where people clamoured to have him perform in their own homes.
Chris Dangerfield is equally as lively, and has created a reputation for madcap antics, delivering the unexpected and combining surreal moments with combative comedy that keeps an audience on the edge of seats. Model Kate Moss is on record commenting that “Trevor Lock moves like Dudley Moore and talks like Peter Cook and Chris Dangerfield moves like Peter Cook and talks like Dudley Moore.”
If she’s right, then a £10 ticket to Comedy Hall on Monday February 6th will be money well spent.
